One might not ordinarily associate good sushi with, well, Cleveland… but here we are!
Ginko is certainly nicer than your average joint, but not super fancy or stuffy either. Definitely a popular and busy spot; it’s not quiet. Book a reservation a week in advance; it fills up quickly being a small space – one big horseshoe-shaped sushi bar, and a handful of surrounding tables.
The standard fish list is pretty good, plus a handful of off-menu specials. I was pleasantly surprised to find kinmedai, akamutsu (nodoguro), and kinki available this past Saturday night.
The nigiri was generally nicely put together and very tasty. If there was a weak spot I’d say the rice was just a little off. Maybe a bit under-seasoned and a bit under temp. They seemed pretty busy and it took a while for orders to come out; it’s not like your pieces are coming out the instant they’re made. Noticeable with the (not shown second order) uni where the nori had already lost some crispness by the time it got to us.
Still overall quite good and worth a shout.

Was just in Cleveland recently and a buddy took me to Ginko. Uni and otoro were both great. Would go back again next time I’m in the land
